The Extreme Tournament features four players from each of the Battle and Anti-Battle Leagues, with all first-round matches being head-to-head matches, but Battle currently has a losing record. While players often transfer to the Anti-Battle League, the kindhearted Sakuraba Urea, whom Battle had pinned its hopes on as a potential next-generation ace, has defected and joined the Anti-Battle League. Faced with this dire situation, the higher-ups finally make a decision. Despite possessing extraordinary potential, a player has never made it onto the stage, secretly being trained overseas under the name “Project M.” She has been trained to become a hitman for the Battle League, and they have decided to deploy her as an Anti-Battle League hunter. Her name is Ito Mao. Her name remains in the memories of only a select few, and her existence has long been forgotten. However, with Battle in a pinch, a forbidden door has finally opened! Ito is immediately tasked with participating in the Extreme Tournament. His first-round opponent is Sakuraba Urea, who has just run away from home. She’s a kind-hearted wrestler who ran away out of concern for the battle, but Ito doesn’t care about that. “All traitors must be crushed.” Sakuraba runs away to fix the current battle, but he quickly finds himself in a major pinch. Treated as a traitor and assassins sent after him, will Sakuraba be able to fight back against this mysterious hitman? And just how strong is Ito Mao, aka Project M?
